This Privacy Policy describes how Florida Permit Coach (“we,” “us,” or “the app”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android and iOS (package name com.permitcoach.florida_permit_coach).

Florida Permit Coach is an unofficial study tool for the Florida Class E driver knowledge exam. We are not affiliated with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) or any government agency.

Florida Permit Coach is not a government entity and is not affiliated with FLHSMV.

1. Summary

• We do not require an account, login, or email to use the app.
• Your quiz progress is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
• The app shows advertisements through Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect data for ads and measurement, subject to your consent where required.
• You can review ad privacy choices in the app under Settings → Privacy choices when available in your region.

2. Information stored on your device

To provide study features, the app saves data locally using your device’s storage (for example, via Android/iOS app preferences). This may include:

• Questions you answered and whether each answer was correct
• A list of missed questions
• Mock exam scores and history (limited recent history on device)
• Readiness-related statistics derived from your answers (accuracy, topics practiced, streak)
• Daily usage counters for free features (such as mock exams and weak-area practice)
• Whether you completed the first-time welcome screen

We do not operate a cloud backup or sync service for this data. If you uninstall the app or clear app storage, this information is typically deleted. We do not receive this local study data on our own servers.

3. Information collected by third-party advertising

The app uses Google AdMob to display ads (including banner, interstitial, and rewarded formats). When ads are shown or loaded, Google and its advertising partners may collect or receive information such as:

• Device identifiers (for example, advertising ID)
• IP address and general location derived from IP
• App activity related to ads (impressions, clicks, interactions)
• Device type, operating system version, and language
• Diagnostic and performance data related to ad delivery

4. Consent and your choices (EEA, UK, and similar regions)

Where required by law, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to ask for your consent or to offer options before personalized advertising. You may also open Settings → Privacy choices in the app to review or change ad privacy settings when Google makes that option available in your region.

You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (for example, “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android or “Limit Ad Tracking” / App Tracking Transparency on iOS). Choices in the app and on your device may affect which ads you see, not whether the app functions.

5. How we use information

• Local study data: to show progress, readiness, missed questions, topics, and daily limits.
• Advertising data (via Google): to serve and measure ads, prevent fraud, and comply with consent rules.

We do not sell your locally stored study progress because we do not collect it on our servers.

6. Sharing of information

We do not share your locally stored study data with third parties. Advertising-related data is processed by Google LLC and its partners as part of AdMob. Google may share information according to its policies and your consent settings.

7. Children’s privacy

Florida Permit Coach is intended for users preparing for a driver knowledge exam, generally teens and adults. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 on our own systems. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps. Advertising on the app is subject to Google’s policies and applicable laws regarding minors.

8. Data retention

• On-device study data: kept until you delete the app or clear its storage.
• Advertising data: retained by Google and partners according to their policies.

9. Security

Local data remains on your device under your operating system’s app sandbox. Internet communication for ads uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) as provided by Google’s SDKs. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

10. International users

If you use the app outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates, including for advertising.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version at this URL and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
